One of the bleakest moments of the Trump presidency was a bunch of people terrified he'd start a nuclear war, but little to no questioning of why any person should ever have this hypothetical ability.
Perhaps it's a homegrown extinction risk that doesn't need to exist?

I actually suggested this very thing, that possession of those weapons was by definition insecure, and was met with gafaws. I’d like to think some of the silent bystanders heard me and thought about it for a sec but I have no way of knowing if any minds were changed
