i think im fairly high empathy (mixed bag imo) and im not sure this is true of me but im definitely willing to entertain the possibility 🤔 suspicion is that people who talk about Being X are just often like this independent of the value taken by X keep your identity smol etc

Self described empaths are weird because they have a strong self image and expect you to view them as they inform you how you should view them. There's no room for your experience of them in this; they expect you to cooberate their view without question, kinda like gender.

I have come to accept that I am almost as cold as I am warm, and that empathy is more of a faculty than a disposition. People seem to miss this and treat it as some kind of identitarian fashion accessory. Being high empathy does not mean demonstrating it in every context.
