but temporary sleep deprivation has actually been looked at as a treatment for bipolar and depression
(note that by day 2 I'm a mess; also this doesn't work if it was merely "awful sleep" like tossing/turning all night for a cumulative 3 hours of disconnected sleep)

mine is like:
0 sleep: good!
1-2 hours: bad
3 hours of unbroken sleep: good
4-5 hours of unbroken sleep: groggy morning but pretty great mood
5-6 hours: bad
6.5-7.5 hours: alright, but lowkey "fuck off" mood
any severely broken sleep less than 8 hours: I Want To Die

be careful especially if you have access to stims stronger than caffeine
it can kick off a nasty, messy sleep cycle
it isn't bad for like...crisis management? but it's extremely temporary.
if you do it, give yourself probably 2 weeks before doing it again.

Hell, enough caffeine will do the job just fine!

tbh i'm not even sure i could physically make myself stay up all night
also caffeine virtually never has any useful effects on me 😭

I did something much like this on acid, once. They beamed someone down to explain things through some kind of frequency resonance.
This only served to make me more confused about neurology, tbh.
