For what it’s worth, I’m pretty sure I’d have been MUCH less fucked up as a kid and until very recently if my parents had gotten promptly divorced when it was clear they couldn’t make it work. Getting divorced isn’t the only way to inflict severe attachment issues.

had to say as well. Sometimes the right (read: least worst) choice for the kids is to split. Hell, sometimes the best choice for the kids is to kidnap them. Some spouses are predators, and so good at deception that it takes time to show.

Problem is, community-based solutions are based in individuals first, and need time to grow, while individuals are, y'know, individual. Everything lives its own life and it's very, very rare that you can simply fix a problem even at an individual level, let alone scale the fix.
