One consequence of years of meditation, deliberately working through childhood issues, traumas etc. is I will not put up with my stepdad's BS.
Going to be a rough transition to having our own place again.

I largely just start out polite and amicable and then grey rock everything if he starts being pushy at all.
Totally noncommital, disinterested. Maybe it gives the impression I'm distracted or stupid, but I don't respect his opinion enough to care.

Very good game plan. Might I suggest saying that you've got an inner ear "thing" and you have to wear earplugs around the house for a while. 🙏

At the moment he's scared I have Covid, so unwanted interactions will probably not be a problem!
Not a bad idea, though. One of his specific tics is having unbearably sensitive hearing, so he'd lose face complaining about tht.
