Considering doing that thing where I have my alt reply to my tweets but then I worry it's a slippery slope and next I'll be liking my own tweets from my 15 other accounts.

Sure, but I wasn't subtweeting you. Just seems effortful to me.
I have my passenger and then I have me. Those are my frames. I could see myself getting more, but only organically.
