I don't know, but even as a citizen I would seriously consider getting the fuck out if it keeps escalating. The dominant social order has been one of neolib elites talking down at literally everyone else from their imaginary moral high horse. The nationalists feed on this.

And now that you have your COVID legitimacy crisis around the prevailing IYIdiocracy, I would only expect that situation to deteriorate. Unlike elsewhere, there hasn't been either A) a high emphasis on integration or B) major concessions to the nationalists to keep them sedated.

It has seemed utterly criminal how many immigrants Sweden has taken on in such a short time, when you consider the wider economic policy. It's the same as the sheer rate of economic globalization. Everything is a "racist dog whistle" if it opposes neoliberal corporate hegemony.

I do think this is deliberate. There is huge wage deflation when you take on, contrary to the popular stereotypes, huge quantities of highly skilled labor. This then becomes a cover for what is essentially a more efficient, comprehensive alternative to union busting.

It's bleak to be situated in Poland, Europe's brain drain capital, listening to chuds who can't figure out how to get a job in Scandinavia complaining about imaginary immigrants taking their jobs. It's clear that the EU system is being used to crush labor standards over time.

And it's equally clear that the UK, Swedish, German, French et al. governments are perfectly willing to let the immigrants take the blame, and their own taxpayers (including the immigrants, of course) the bill. Then they wonder how the fascists can simply lie their way to power.
