The only thing I've found annoying is the increased number of people with bad faith or incompetent reply game. The kind who show up just to be a dick or to argue with their ramshackle projection of you, or grind axes over their pet issues. But my account is hardly big, so...

OTOH I am finding I am more and more "myself" as I learn to recognize that X people are fine with listening and X minus Y genuinely interested (& both numbers comfortably large). It feels *less* like a cage when this is a given rather than a potential future scenario.

I don't quite know if we mean the same thing, but... I don't fear honest expression leading to a lack of engagement with my stuff because if anything, it's only made my account more polarizing. I get more random praise and attacks than ever.

While bad faith takes are annoying and inept behaviors are tiresome, neither particularly scare me. I can bite if I need to, but most of the time, why bother? I'm not the one wasting my energy on internet strangers I don't like or respect if I don't engage.
