My fellow travelers on some of the spiritual paths I've taken look like the antagonists in occult horror movies.
Not sure if it's moreso me or my surroundings that have been lucky that I haven't turned out that way, but either way, I'm grateful.

Do you mean that really? e.g. villainous, diabolically possessed, intense power used for nefarious self-centered goals? I’m curious if that’s hyperbole, or if I’m “off base” with my mental image of occult antagonists.

For reference, I don’t follow *that* much horror. But my impression of those villains would be more like a spectre than a human.
If I were imagining an occult antagonist irl, I’d probably think of something spiritually materialistic but seemingly innocuous(?)
