meditation update: for the past four days, I have felt a deep, pervasive sense of "okayness" it's something I've seen before but only glimpses it's like I've been fishing for years and kept getting nibbles, but now I have something on the line

It tends to bottom out after a while. The standard Buddhist advice is to keep working on the same fundamentals. It's very easy to lose interest when everything is fine, but it's actually a very facilitative state.

In a second law of thermodynamics sense. If you are not adding more energy through meditation, you eventually return to some kind of emotional baseline or less energetic state.
