I do understand people who get into rants about "death denial" whenever someone questions the notion that your body is all there is to you. However, my own faith that it's not so is exactly coextensive with the idea that me-as-this-body is a lab experiment of no intrinsic value.

Not only will I die with this body, but my life is also totally worthless in the grand scheme of things. Maybe materialism is insignificance denial?

The idea that there is no inherent meaning, no good and evil, and therefore your life is somehow suddenly full of meaning, is total cope. You mean little to nothing. That is a direct consequence of Everything having its own significance.
