A question for #roamcult and people who take a lot of notes when reading non-fiction...
I take too many notes/copy too much out of book as I read. This makes my reading laborious, slow and not as much fun as it could be.
How do you overcome this kind of note-taking FOMO?

I just mark the sections I'd like to note something on or scrawl marginalia for minor thoughts.
Minimize even this in order to prevent turning it into a chore, by monitoring for "ugh" feelings and becoming more reluctant to take notes if I experience any while reading.

My frustration here is often that margins are too narrow and I despise typing on my kindle. The app works well enough though.
I suspect I should listen to that "ugh" response more than I do now though.

What version of Kindle are you using? I recently upgraded from c. 2011 Kindle with a keyboard to the most recent generation Kindle Paperwhite with touchscreen. Note taking is much better and faster. You can type with two thumbs. It's quite a well designed device.
