The politics of this country are utterly fucked.
The oldest generations lived through two to three different regime changes and accompanying social collapse.
Most of them are severely traumatized and, if you play on their triggers, utterly gullible. And they rule everything.

In the US people just default to blaming boomers and other children of privilege.
The notion that everyone's share of responsibility is equal is absurd.
Likewise the notion that Poland only and not the Third Reich and the Soviets and (yes) the Allies are also responsible.

These are all historical and political causes that make sense.
Transposing it onto every new circumstance is delusional, but understandable.
And it isn't always wrong. Who honestly believes the EU cares much? Or the UK, where racist attacks on Poles are still commonplace?

Remember these are governments that, for their own selfish reasons, twist history to represent Poland as complicit in the Holocaust.
The Polish pre-war government were a bunch of low-grade moron warmongers, but a Reich occupation is not a Polish govt.

It's disappointing to me that so many people are so insensitive and narrow-minded that they will reduce this absolute clusterfuck of historical circumstances to "all Poles r racist lol, cuz Catholicism and conservatism."
Dunno why I expect better, I suppose it's normal.
