Society actively squeezes out drama as ‘unprofessional’. If people are stuck in a certain way of being it’s easier to stick that cog in the right place. Peopleologists tend to mostly work similarly from a “fix this person for society”.

True, although there are plenty of exceptions to the latter point especially.
Still, I think there are modelling issues. Simulation may simply outstrip lab work or certain kinds of field work in terms of clarity.
Or Johnstone is just that good. Also a possibility.
