Hm. Been a while since I could do this effortlessly. 7ish months ago I'd habitually just move centers of awareness.
Do this for a while and you start freaking people out, though. It's like going through multiple social masks per conversation.
How do you even do it effortfully???

Attention is like balance. You can train yourself to be conscious of it, but most of us operate it without much awareness.
Just like with balance, you can alter your center of (attentional) gravity. It takes some practice, though, for most of us.
