Let's make this a general question. Are there negatives (long term or short term) to Modafinal use other than increase metabolism?

I mean, it still acts as a weird but minor stimulant - so some tunnel-vision, restlessness, impulse control. Long term sleep debt affects cognition in subtle ways whether compensated for chemically or not. Seems broadly /safe/ in all studies.

In my experience, habituation still leads to subtle phase shift in consciousness slowly surfing mania/dysphoria, but not like regular amphetamines. Has the same slight frazzled at the edges feeling of SSRIs to me. Would have no prob taking for yrs if had intense fatigue again tho

slightly frazzled, slight dissatisfaction. Sounds like something that people who don't have intense fatigue should use occasionally, but to all the time.

(I tend to be a bit suspicious of drugs that look like free lunches, but perhaps this is one that mostly is. Curious, since it seems like our elites are often on it almost all the time.)

still pushy in the background in my experience tho if you have to get stuff done I suppose that’s welcome. No free lunches, but no moral good to consciousness only altered FB/TV but not drugs. On par with regular strong coffee habit. Slightly cleaner, but more tunnel less jitter
