There have been so many experts actually modelling and hypothesizing these threats that an uneducated hick like me was familiar with it a decade ago.
Do such experts ever get to wield any significant political power? Well, almost never, obviously. But plenty of incompetents do.

Yet, I can't imagine that literally all of them are as clueless as they'd have to be to believe that they were safe.
So, that leaves some truly epic collusion & moral decrepitude on display. If not here, then certainly elsewhere.
