I love the Kvothe books. Mystery, hardships, magic, romance, mythology, twists of fate, music. Really weird and fascinating characters. Also, some really amazing archetypes explored in the second book.

They were very entertaining. Less impressed with Rothfuss' strategy of 'well, I guess I'll do other stuff for the next decade', but his life! Maybe the third book will even come out someday.

I read somewhere that he has some weird blockage about writing it. Probably because his style of constructing narrative is “gardener”, not an “architect”. Gardeners are a lot more unpredictable and take more time due to having to rewrite big chunks. George Martin of GOT is same.

Yeah, I mean, I can't get myself to write more than five pages of any story I come up with, so not really in a position to judge here...
