I often think that if I never visited the US again, that'd be about adequate.
(Esp. considering I have a non-zero chance of being detained at the airport over a past passport irregularity.)
That said, I'd really like to experience this absurdity up close. Emptiness & space.

You don't *really* get a sense of how huge America is until you drive across it. Also it's exceedingly stupid we have no high speed rail, there's so much empty space what's the problem exactly? Disrupting the 1,000 rest stops that sell gas, Twinkies and slim jims?
