Sweden also survived, and made themselves very useful to the Nazis. But at the current time I get the impression Sweden is the worst of the Nordics, I'd go to any of the others first.

This is true. Norway/Finland > Denmark (put Denmark higher if v. hedonistic or bohemian in outlook) >> Sweden. Norway and Finland have quite distinctive virtues. It's not a straight equivalence.
