Corbyn did fuck up catastrophically on a number of fronts, rarely if ever including those he's accused of fucking up on. That said, this particular UK electorate has got to be one of the dumbest in the history of ever. The only explicitly pro-austerity party wins, massively?

I partly agree with this, if you drop the racism angle and focus purely on the question of localism/internationalism. Internationalist policies have thoroughly fucked the UK economy. But the Tories are internationalists in drag who are also furthering austerity, so... moronic.

Jesus, but 60% of the population in any country at any given time really do have sawdust for brains. Not sure how democracy is supposed to function at even a very basic, generously defined level, with all the ways to leverage PR in politics.

I still maintain that a lot of the crappy stuff going on in Britain stems from us still riding the very last atoms of the coattails of empire... some people still imagine us as this powerful country that can throw its weight around. Brexit obviously capitalised on that.
