An autistic acquaintance of his was walking through a park, when a stranger accosted him.
'Do you have any money?'
'No.'
'I have a knife.'
'I don't need a knife.'

I once had an encounter with a stranger that could have turned into a mugging but instead devolved into begging, with me apologizing for not having more money to give her.

I once unintentionally badassed my way out of a mugging by dropping my wallet at my feet and looking the dude cold in the eyes. I didn’t realize until later that he thought *I* was a threat, mostly because the person I told it to went off on me for being “reckless”
