Conversation

Trying to do sitting meditation consistently leads to the body sending signals of 'too stiff!' and starting its own stretch & dance routine. Which is cool. The stretches are good. But also, probably need to practice the actual work of meditating in a different manner.

I don't mean a sort of psychological restlesness here. The body simply refuses to maintain correct posture. 'Fix this or fuck off.'

I suspect it connects back to decoupling some forms of conscious decision-making from various autonomous processes in earlier practice. Possible to wrest back conscious control, but why bother? The peripheral nervous system probably knows what it's doing.

I used to force myself to sit until some limb would fall asleep or some muscle ache compromise my posture, but now this simply doesn't happen. It's an interesting transition to experience from the inside.
