May turn out treatable someday, but psychopathy distinguishes itself in being congenital. Psychopathy is visibly expressed by kindergarden age, sometimes earlier. Most personality disorders, mood disorders etc. only present full range of symptoms by your teens.

I have my doubts about efficacy there. Personality disorders are treatable inasmuch as they represent maladaptive developments on certain baseline traits. With psychopathy the distinguishing feature is the absence of certain traits, not maladaptation.

E.g. My narcissistic traits stem from certain kinds of emotional deprivation in childhood, mixed w/e.g. extremely high emotional sensitivity. This can enable really bad personality constructs, but the trait itself is value-neutral. Contrast with just... not having empathy.

Sadism is a normal mammalian impulse. Empathy is one of several behavioural counterbalances. Confer kids murdering birds, or the typical behaviours of ill-disciplined soldiers. The absence of empathy gives free reign to the FUN of inflicting suffering. Sounds unimpressive, TBH.

The dominant treatment outcome with psychopaths seems to be that they say exactly what their counselor teaches them is expected. Then go right back to their starting point whenever convenient. No treatment for the lack of internal brakes, so...
