May turn out treatable someday, but psychopathy distinguishes itself in being congenital. Psychopathy is visibly expressed by kindergarden age, sometimes earlier. Most personality disorders, mood disorders etc. only present full range of symptoms by your teens.

I have my doubts about efficacy there. Personality disorders are treatable inasmuch as they represent maladaptive developments on certain baseline traits. With psychopathy the distinguishing feature is the absence of certain traits, not maladaptation.

Yeah. It's also a question of what remission and relapse actually means. I have a flu, which brings some traits out. I am hypersensitive and a bit difficult. But not, say, locking women in airtight coffins for the lulz. That's a common failure mode with psychopaths, OTOH.

E.g. My narcissistic traits stem from certain kinds of emotional deprivation in childhood, mixed w/e.g. extremely high emotional sensitivity. This can enable really bad personality constructs, but the trait itself is value-neutral. Contrast with just... not having empathy.
