I have exactly the opposite instinct. I expect evolutionary pressure to produce diversity as small players innovate to if an edge the big guys can't exploit. Both herbivores and predators come in all shapes and sizes.

China and US compete in same niche, so the partial convergence makes sense. But yeah, that tweet is a very early modernist take on evolutionary pressures. Practically Social Darwinism.

Well, of course. If anything, it seems we are only experiencing this degree of collapse because of all the work that went into destabilizing emerging economies and foreign politics. Feedback cycles, + social rot from security apparatus bloat, offshoring & monopolization.
