The practical rural skills, like most of the city skills, are similar to learn.
The basics are fairly simple to grasp, but you can build an entire Ph.D on the subtleties of a single sub-sub-topic. :D

Yeah, man. I just wanna get to the point where I can credibly repair shit at home without much risk of making it worse, build simple furniture etc.
If I can get to that point, I'll at least not be a complete liability.
