I have no idea! But I can tell you: Serbs are *very* comfortable with violence, and share many socioeconomic & cultural problems with the US. Whatever is going on in the US is a fairly unique phenomenon. Has more in common with "shithole countries" than it likes to admit.

I'm not sure how to best put this into words but American culture seems cut off from its roots. European myths see nature & land as a nourishing mother. American myths are all about conquest, where nature & land are a wild frontier that need to be put under control.

Yeah, there's A LOT of collective trauma to process both in Poland and America, and the narratives I hear are mostly about guilt and blame. I'm yet to hear a good story that would describe WW2 in Poland from a perspective of grief, integration, and healing.
