Hope has always been what kept me projecting empathy onto abusive people and discerning good intentions from abusive behavior. I know how dangerous hope can be.

Why then? Isn’t it futile? I have been active in climate activism for a decade because I have resolve. I was always going to die, even if climate change never came to pass. I get to decide how I use this life. &supporting movements that act directly on root causes of suffering

Resolve, not hope. Having he heart to act on your values, not hope. Knowing that your “way of life” is always precarious and finding safety in the community of others working to uproot suffering, not hope.
