An hour a day of pretty much any kind of meditation will loosen repressed emotional material. The 20 minute "feeling out* is meant to slowly vent off that material specifically to stop destructive explosions. It's clear that even that slow venting is destabilising people.

I haven't but I'm very keen to. You mentioned some earlier. Can you recommend good ones? I've done therapy on and off. I find having the cash to engage coaches difficult. Issue is compounded by the fact that my relationship with money is challenging and I don't prioritize myself

EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) seems to show good results. Has the benefit of being fairly limited-duration as well. Then you have psychomotor therapy, which I know little about, but which is endorsed by Bessel van der Kolk.

Somatic Experiencing is basically an elaboration of the emotional processing step with some additional help w/calming, elicitation and reaction. Seems theoretically sound, and is pretty close to how I self-treat. Plan to check it out if I move near a practitioner.
