Dissociation was one of my major problems. Still probably dissociated in some ways, though, of course, Vipassana has made me able to read my body better than most ordinary people.

I am tipsy and tired and far below my usual level of articulation, but I had a very big aha-moment.
The reason my mind is less noisy is my body is louder (and heard!)
The reason there is some chatter still is there are some signals from the body that are blocked/distorted.

eventually the body also becomes very quiet.
I was thinking about your chatter thing. By your definition, I don't have a lot of mental chatter.

It is! It's why it's so easy to recognize e.g. constipation or discomfort after eating.
There is very little noise in the signal.

Think this also induces automatic movements and bliss sensations if you lock on to the signal, attentionally.
There is a sort of intention locked away in every feeling. And pure intention is blissful.

Tension in the body. Concentration on it elicits a movement. Maybe repeats a few times.
Feeling of satisfaction arises. Concentration on this feeling elicits lightness in the body. Energy starts moving around.
Repeat until you're humming, dancing or whatever. Then go with flow.

I have a few areas with a LOT of tension, tension held for decades.
