It can't be a coincidence that this is mostly from extremely low follower count accounts.

IME this usually comes from people who have experienced a lot of abuse or neglect in childhood, and never worked on it after.
You get this socialized expectation that people are meant to treat abusive behaviour seriously, and not take it to be an aggressive waste of their time.

Right? I loved the simple reminder from on a recent podcast that social media would feel a lot more civil if we behaved as if the interactions were in person.

Very stoic. ;)
I find I mostly just work on my overall emotional blockages, reactivity does itself in.
I..e. if I'm not getting defensive or triggered by hostility, I mostly respond with light mockery or complete unconcern.
What does it do to me, really? Not much of anything.
