One slightly surprising side-effect of more embodied awareness is that I eat far, far less food than before. I can't eat more than two meals a day, often just one. It just feels terrible. Overall almost halved my food consumption.

Yeah, above makes sense, and there’s also the social rhythms / behaviour patterns & habits of those around you that signal “time to eat now.” When that signal is reduced, one can really tune into one’s digestive system and metabolic needs
