Going to take a recommendation from and do a meditation thread of threads. Just that I'm a clumsy user of Twitter search, so this may go a bit slowly.

1. On needing physical conditioning to compliment high energy/motivation from sustained meditation

Feel really, really spent. Need to find time for a lot more movement and some strength training. My overall level of emotional energy is very rapidly exceeding the body's ability to keep up. Too used to lethargy.

4. Moral risks with re- and deconditioning.
Quote Tweet
I wonder how much of the rape culture around certain gurus & lineages comes from degeneration or ignorance of the attendant moral practices. When you start hitting the deeper sustained levels of unconditional love, the narrow bandwidth of expression feels *really frustrating*.

5. The BS story of universal enlightenment.
Quote Tweet
Longing to read a meditation book where the author doesn't spend a fourth of the text trying to convince me awakening == "the next step in evolution." This is such a nauseatingly modernist, bad evolutionary biology perspective. Can you just stop?

7. Personality shifts. Was quite happy with this one.

So, one thing you'll come across a lot with long-term meditation is personality shifts, where your interface with the world changes. Mostly these are tiny shifts, the kind you see in mindfulness brochures. A bit of gentleness, a dash of courage. Some are monumental.

8. Side-effects of more embodied consciousness.
Quote Tweet
One slightly surprising side-effect of more embodied awareness is that I eat far, far less food than before. I can't eat more than two meals a day, often just one. It just feels terrible. Overall almost halved my food consumption.

9. Effable and ineffable technique.

It's becoming more and more clear to me that I only understand the very core of my practice with any real precision (see: @leashless, Cutting Machinery). Everything else is very rapidly iterated DIY, WIP, "how am I doing this and why is it working?" stuff. That said...

10: Locus of awareness. This one will probably seem weird if you haven't done a lot of meditation already.

Changing something about where you put your attention completely changes the somatic possibility space. Body simultaneously acquires and drops different behavioral patterns in reaction. Sort of extremely eerie to witness from the inside.
