Out of nowhere, I suddenly find I can meditate again. Really, really meditate again. And better than ever. Take breaks, people. It's good for you.

If mind is burning up with questions of pain, loss, anxiety, you will not be able to rest fully in awareness. Nor will you be able to deconstruct the things which meditation can deconstruct for you, like fossilized residues of mostly-released trauma.

If you can't face emotions that come up in meditation, you are not meditating wrong. You are receiving feedback about the limits of meditation. But also, you are receiving information from the body. Answers to the question "where does it hurt?" Diagnosis.

This in itself is a great tool. When meditation shines a light on unintegrated shadow phenomena, you can begin work on integration. But don't expect a lamp to do the work of a shovel.
