Writing Prompt: After an earthquake, you're trapped in rubble, & calling emergency services doesn't work b/c overloaded. You use twitter to call for help, but the only people nearby are those you blocked years earlier b/c they were on a shared block list. Quietly & alone, you die

I wrote a short thread about someone who takes pride in announcing their blocks via quote tweets Maybe you can guess who's being referred to here:

Ever feel like reducing other's agency reduces your uncertainty? See how this works on twitter? You see another's offensive tweet, so you reduce them to 280 characters of agency Then you block, so you'll never see that idea again, thus reducing your uncertainty about the world.

I am not popular enough to experience 2nd order annoyance (such as seeing abusive replies based on an instigator), so I may mute sometimes but then often un-mute if that username comes up again. I may not want to hear from some people, but why would I deny them my brilliance? ๐Ÿ˜œ

I've muted people for being bores, but if someone is being downright abusive, my followers will still interact with them even if I can't see them.
