Right, but when I read, e.g., Deleuze, Derrida, Foucault (“the postmodernists”), I’m drawn through some pretty detailed discussions of Plato, Spinoza, Leibniz, Bergson, Nietzsche, etc. I don’t see this level of detail in the metamodernism crowd (yet?), & def not in IDW types.

Okay, but if you look at, say, Kant’s Critique of Pure Reason (1781), you’ll find exactly this kind of thing. So, is Kant’s transcendental philosophy already metamodernism? That doesn’t seem like it tracks.
