Who says nobody gives a shit? One of my concerns is the way westerners dehumanise Chinese. Of course, we always fear those we exploit without acknowledgement. I saw a newly arrived Chinese student sitting forlorn in a stairway. No idea where to stay. Whatcha do? Rocket science?

i went into the store to get a new phone.I hate that I needed one,built in obsolescence is a horror-the salesperson asked me what i was wanted in a phone,I said,"I want one w/ no exploitation'. & since NO one had ever asked for that we had to do the research together in the shop.

the whole store got into it.& the sales staff were all blown away by the horror of the slavery & exploitation. It turned out Fairphone was best, but I couldnt get one. Then blackberry ??? I couldnt get that either.Then next least bad was Nokia. fyi apple was way down the list.

Mmh, known about the Apple stuff for about a decade I think. Just awful, awful reading.
I have a Nokia at the moment, so yay!
But I can't even begin to fathom how many broken systems feed the slave labour in the wider supply chains, or where the weakest link in that chain is.
