Boundless joy isn't the only worthy experiential default, but it sure beats anything else I can remember.

When it isn't terrible or awful, it is!
(The price is feeling, well, everything, fully as it arises all through until it passes. All the bad stuff, too.)
At least, I haven't found a way to make it work without that part. Not sure if I care to, either.

Even that sounds pretty good, tbh. Drifting along with a vague feeling of impending dread actually seems reasonable these days, but it's not a lot of fun. Having emotions doing what they're supposed to do, however visceral the experience, still sounds like levelling up to me.
