That is just the tip of the iceberg.
Lots of these men have had really bad traumas. The problem is, many male coping mechanisms tend towards the "actively worsening" side of the spectrum.
Women also get fucked up and maladaptive coping strategies, of course, but overall fewer.

You do see a few women who are so actively hostile, they may as well be cringey old dudes, but thankfully, most women seem to have an easier time avoiding this particular failure mode.
This isn't even really a human or even primate problem, per se. You ever seen an old rooster?
One who has lost his leadership position to a new, young rooster?
That is pure, pure misery incarnate. Poor souls.
