Kim Kardashian filed for a bunch of trademarks on the word "kimono" (even for actual kimono), which, if granted, would allow her to ban Japanese companies from using the word "kimono" in America. Somebody call Cool Japan ASAP.

Yeah:( I'm wondering though if there are effective responses to this sort of thing...because these sort of selfish attention grabs are very cornering moves. There are downsides to creating outrage, but even more downsides to just being silent
