I think a common mistake I see people make in most casual, not-too-technical speaking events is they worry too much about the content and the details, at the expense of the delivery. Most people want to connect with the speaker. They want to know your feelings. It’s a vibing game

Not only casual events! I once got elected as a representative by accident, ahead of eight-or-so well-prepared candidates! That's how deeply people care about substance. I was the only one to say anything that made people laugh, so I got voted in. That's how much it matters.
