Yes. You find people talking about sea-rise in the early1900s, & soil degradation, & pollution.I can never quite tell if I am inspired by them, or depressed by the fact that no one heeded to warnings back then.Both I guess.I do think it is important to note that none of this new.

The problem always was that to reveal the interdependence was to undermine the victory of predatory, colonial, objectification & exploitation -responding to the science of ecology & contextual understanding of evolution was never going to fit nicely into the culture of profit.

Yes, but I don't think that's broad enough! Take energy efficiency - pure profit, very short return on investment, no ideology required. "You want inefficient or efficient industrial processes?" People just won't spend. And I'm not taking fancy cradle to cradle stuff here.
