Worth remembering that Polish govt. in 1938 helped the Nazis annex Czechia and partition Czechoslovakia, only to be flattened by the Nazis the next year. The Polish *people* did nothing to deserve what happened to Poland. The Polish state was a willing accomplice.

All this talk of "the darkest period in our country's history," is designed to do the exact same as the anti-EU rhetoric: cover up and deflect from the Polish state's complicity in screwing over its citizens, now and then.

Then, it was in pursuing a fatally misguided strategy of backed up in the bizarrely arrogant belief that the Polish army was any match for the German. Now, by first initiating a massive fire sale of Polish assets and splitting the rest through rampant clientelism & corruption.
