I do understand that people are, basically scared of death because they think it's an existential end. But, 1) unproven; 2) proven: lots of really really bad shit happens while people are alive. It's not clear to me that death is bad or scary. Heck, even if it is the END.

There was some paper not so long ago that suggested Himalayan Buddhists who believed death wasn’t an end, were much more scared about death. What if I fuck up in the bardo and end up in a hell realm? Much scarier than the night in which all cows are black.

Yes, this is basically my critique of the "death denial" dismissal of reincarnation. It assumes a lot of things wrt. feelings about death that I don't find to be true for all, or even necessarily most, people.
