There's a lot of good fantasy art on pinterest but I can't for the life of me figure out the app or website, I can't tell if it's because I'm too old or because their UX sucks. (I had the same question with Snapchat).

It's their UX.
The interface prevents a lot of really logical browsing/exploration patterns from working properly. Instead of logical options, they seem to want to push as many recommendations as possible pr. screen.
