The most amusing thing about all these Game of Thrones takes is the desperation some authors and fans show to come up with more "interesting" takes than "shit sucks, yo".

My personal favorite so far is all the outrage at Daenerys turning into an antagonist because something something patriarchy.
Of course basically all the writing for it sucked, yadda yadda yadda, but what, women aren't allowed a full range of (im)moral expression in your world?

Žižek's presenting it as some sort of establishment narrative that woman revolutionaries are dangerous, and not, say, George R.R. Martin wanting it this way.

Aren't all revolutionaries dangerous by definition? Not to mention she was literally a member of inherited royalty fighting for control of an entrenched power structure. "revolutionary" 😂
*disclaimer if I'm talking crap, I haven't seen it.

I didn't care much about the plot element. I lost interest in GoT during season 5, as the quality had just gotten too bad to sustain my interest. I just see some clips from time to time & feel instantly vindicated.
I'm just amazed at the wide variety of bullshit "explainers".
There are only so many ways you can spin Actually Terrible Writing, IMO. But apparently that explanation is too simplistic for some folks.
As for people being angry at the exact plot points, who wins, who loses, I wonder what show they've been watching. It was always like that.

In the end most of those explainers all seem to suffer from the same basic plot holes and lack of valid justifications as, uh, the show itself.
