Honestly, forget climate change for a second. It will go as expected or it won't. Much of that is already decided. Cascades have been rolling for decades. Look at ecology. Are we doing the bare minimum to sustain a human future even if the climate stays put? Uh, no. We're not.

We need ways to stop pollution, dumping of toxic waste, plasticification of every cubic meter of atmosphere and a million other self-imposed injuries. And we often don't have them. And where we have them, implementation is far behind schedule.

Every climate scientist on earth could've been sniffing glue while making models for the past decade, and we'd still be deeply fucked. There is no optimistic scenario without change in a whole bunch of fundamentals in how we run things. So why pretend otherwise?
