Things are changing though. Clinton was a rapist. I don't think Bill could get away with rape today. I just don't think experienced politicians are a positive slice of humanity for the most part.

Depends on your standard of "get away with", I think. I don't see any of the abundant criminal politicians in the US suffer more than a quiet end to their careers at worst, and only really in cases where they lack much influence.

It's always curious to me, in a country with so many psychos and so many guns, how rarely a politician gets bopped. You'd think people would attempt that more often. The secret service aren't *that* potent.
