I'd like to credit myself "growing up" or some supposedly meritorious practice like meditation for my growing weariness with overwrought cleverness.

Whenever someone uses words like "quick", "efficient", or "elegant" in a sentence describing their solution to a problem...
I consider this solid proof that the problem is still there, and possibly worse.
